Hi all,
This is a two part post.. a friend of mine is trying to get an idea of what his cue may be worth on the open market. I realize he may need to post it up on eBay to get a decent idea but I thought I'd just throw it out there. Second, it gives me a chance to share probably the nicest Espiritu I've ever seen.

My friend is the original owner, he purchased the cue up at the Reno Open in December 2000 (I believe from Espiritu dealer OMNICUE).

Description as follows:
Handcrafted, one of a kind cue, this cue has 4 Snakewood points set in a Birdseye forearm. The four points have highly figured inlays of Ivory, Pistachio, and Turquoise. The handle is made of Thuya Burl from Australia. The inlays in the handle use the same materials as the point inlays. There are four Ivory stich rings @A,B,C,D. The butt has an intricate pattern using Ivory, Pistachio, and Turquoise. The butt cap is also Ivory.

The cue has a SS joint and Cocobolo joint protectors. Comes with two 13mm standard shafts with Ivory ferrules and one (thinner diam.. 11-12mm) snooker shaft with an Ivory ferrule as well. Shafts are in mint condition and are tipped with Moori medium tips with fiber pads.

The cue comes with a Whitten 1x3 Alligator pattern leather case. Two tone Cognac with a Sundance trim.

Espiritu

Thanks guys. I will pass along the compliments. Thats a nice cue too.. I think Espiritu has been doing some nicer work the past couple years. Which, in my opinion, is good if he wants to avoid becoming another 'custom production' cuemaker with cookie cutter designs. His cues are known for their playability.. good for road players too that don't wanna pull out a $4000 Mottey and say they only play in leagues. =o]

WOW, thats a very nice cue,

Personally i have liked and then dis-liked some of R.E.'s cues. Personal opinion i guess. Only because i think sometimes theres too much going on with the cue, that it takes away from the cue.

I have a stock model and like the way it plays, and know several guys who have custom 1 of a kind Espiritu's or stock models, and like them alot.

I will say thats probably one of the nicest espiritu's i have ever seen.

As for price, it basically depends on the market. It could go for 2,000$ or more i dunno. it might only get 1,000$

here is the other one, this one is really loaded with ivory and the ivory/pink ivory bushka rings really set it off.

russ told me that he only made 7 ivory pointed cues and these were very early in his cuemaking years.
