Ok people, I have a 1998 Fancy SW cue and need to find out what the value of the is cue is. And I know that over seas is the best place to try and sell this cue since SW cues do really, really well over there. The cue is ebony with pink ivory and ivory inlays with lots of scrimshaw work on it. Ivory rings, leather wrap. I remember a Fancy SW selling on ebay a few years ago just like mine, only mine has ivory rings, it sold for $15000, a least the auction ended for $15000. So I want your thoughts, is it worth more? Less? help, I've been away from the cue scene for 6 years now and really don't know what kind of price this cue is demanding now. thanks Michael

The inlay wood looks like Pau ferro not pink ivory. But it could just be the photos. Please verify the wood this would confirm the value more.

As for the value. At this point it's what the market will reflect. This is an exceptional fancy sw..more than double the average range of most SW. Keep in mind this a just a rough estimate.

Obviously if you're wanting strictly cash it will bring lower price than if cash + trade. If someone has something that you might be interested in..then you could get more value from the buyer in trade plus cash.

Also in your ad..you should state the pin number this contributes to the year and actual date it was made. This adds more digits to your price.

That is one fancy SW.

I am an expert in SW cue values, and I would estimate the value of your cue at approximately $100.

Since I love SW cues so much though, I am willing to give you $200 for it.

I got these values from Book of Pool Cues 3rd Ed.
__98%____90%____70%
$10,000 $8,200 $6,000

Those numbers are from a better time in the market so it would be discounted some but then that's up to a buyer to determine how much they are willing to pay.
I'd love to get it but I've used my cue allowance for the next few years, according to my wife.

Ok, I might have been just a teensy bit low.

Yes, that is pink ivory. Also, a cue like that could go for 10K or less, but that's just my opinion.

There is only one other 15K SW to my knowledge and it is much nicer.

I would have to say it is in that range though, but this economy will definitely affect your sale.
