Just moved to Fargo, ND yesterday! I was hoping for some info on the local scene. I am already aware of Fargo Billiards and the Sunday / Monday tournaments. Are there any other weekly tournaments in the area? Where are the pickup games? Are there any other websites to check out?

I dunno..never been there, but everybody who posts about Fargo Billiards gives it rave reviews. So maybe count your blessings? :)
 
I think Danny Basavich hung his hat in Fargo for a while so there must be other rooms there.

Check the Yellow Pages under Billiards or Pool.
 
I agree, why go any place else if you are near the Gastropub? I am sure you will find a few guys to play there.

I'll give you the lowdown.. Have we met?

You just missed our Midwinter Shootout last weekend. We added $3,000 and had $9400 in the calcutta. Fun weekend

Next Weekend (March 17/18) is the Fargo City 8-Championship on Saturday and the Fargo City 9-ball Championship (big table) on Sunday.

We recovered a dozen of our 9-foot tables in the last two days (Simonis 860)

Our biggest league nights are Tuesday & Thursday. About 60-65 players each of those nights. And on Thursday in particular you can probably get a cheap game with about 40 of them and a not-so-cheap game with a handful.

Other places to play:

Marc Oelslager had another room downtown that closed up last May. About half of the league that he had there are now playing out of Cactus Jacks--a bar attached to a bowling alley (West Acres Bowl). I suspect you can find a Valley-bar-table game there on a Tuesday night.

No other weekly tournaments that I know of.
