I take ball in hand behind the line right after the break, cause I don't want to spend a dollar to spot the balls I made.

I've been going after my clusters right away...
I'm finding that the secret is to eliminate the bad games. It seems like I'm going after my clusters too soon, trying to force it. I've found that there is SO MUCH opportunity to break them out later on, so now I've focused on patiently waiting for the right opportunity...and that opportunity always presents itself, and early too. Being more patient has eliminated he devastating 4 that I always seem to have one of.

Do y'all think that trading the spotted balls for behind the line BIH is a fair trade?
I kind of feel like it would be easier to spot the balls, if any, and take BIH anywhere, guaranteeing a clean break out on the first shot.

What you think?
 
I don't spot the balls anymore someone pointed out to me a while back in a similar thread why punish your self after a good break. But since I don't spot the balls that were made I also play the CB where is lies after the break, except for the rare occasion where I can not make a shot then ill move the CB a few inches where I have a chance to make a shot but also not in a place where the shot is 100% to be made.

Good point Jose, but why I was wondering is cause there's actually charts published with scores translating to ability category (A, AA, MASTER, ETC)
And I think that you aren't getting an accurate score if your forfeiting BIH alltogether. The scoring chart is based upon you having BIH after the break.
Since pocketing more than 1 ball on the break doesn't always happen, I feel like BIH every game is a huge factor to give up for just spotting a ball here and there.

I spot all balls made on the break and BIH anywhere after that. The only reason I do that is because it helps me improve on my break out shots. I usually score between 120-125 in 10 innings of Fargo. I'm working on starting the rotation shots earlier in the match.

I always suspected that my ratings would be off because of not taking ball in hand I think it is under-rating me but I'm not to sure not a problem for me if it is.

Now I understand ball in hand gives you more options to run out and to knock out clusters, but for me it makes it more of a challenge like which ball will get me to this break out shot. That's why I just play the CB where it lies after the break and forces me to try to take the right shot and also has been helping me out by making longer tougher shots for the first shot after the break.

And another reason for playing where the CB lies after the break is because I'm playing mostly 8ball singles league and try to start my runout by trying to make which ever group ball I choose unless I mess up then start going randomly till the last 5 or six balls.
