It is a Usenet newsgroup stands for rec.sports.billiard. You can think of it as a textual based forum. Newsgroups preceded forums like this, and internet browsers for that matter, by many, many years. There are usenet newsgroup for virtually every topic under the sun. They are un-moderated for the most part (praise the lord). The proper way to access the usenet is to get news reader software like Agent. However if you're just curious about news groups and the topics they cover, you can check them out on google. Go to google and press "groups" it will take you to a page from which you can figure out how to navigate through them. The GUI presented to you by Google is kind of weird so you might not realize the great variety of newsgroups. You can look over rsb at RSB.
 
I read that too. I hope its just a rumor. Fast Larry posted a lot of info on pool & I will miss him. I checked the Atlanta Obits & could not find out anything.:confused:
 
The last time i heard from him was 4/21 and he was OK. Had allot of dates on his schedule for May for Florida. I will try to find out today.:)

I hope he is Ok.:)
 
Fast Larry sucks. He waged a war on everyone on RSB, ASP, and numerous other forums. His racist, sexist, homophobic, nonsense, and his incessant put-downs of others are what has caused so many (myself included) to despise him. The man suffers from chronic potty mouth, he is seemingly incapable of communicating without cursing and is generally extremely rude and offensive.

Candy coating the issue, or attempting to whitewash what is a matter of record in the RSB archives serves no good purpose. I wish he would just shut up and go away from all the forums for good, and I am absolutely sure that I am not alone in this desire. Like the good book says "As you sow, so shall you reap."

And for those who point to his supposed mental problems as a reason to excuse his boorish behavior..I'm sorry but that is a problem for him and his psychiatrist to deal with, and not a cross for anyone else to bear.

I'm not one for publicly bashing someone, but FL was all that SF said and more. He definitely has an interaction thing going on with the meds he takes and the alcohol he consumes and his behavior would get really, really bizarre.

Plus, he is relentless with his harrassment of some people.

Yeah, the guy said some things to piss some folks off...who the hell doesn't on these forums!!! He has some opinions, that he is entitled too, and other times he can be an ass. Again, who else on these forums, or any other fourms for that manner, doesn't do it. Some folks just do it more than others. I spoke with him the other day and he sounds like he is doing well and he said the he feels healthy. Hell, while you all are trying start $h*t, he even admits that he was wrong in the way he approaches people, and that's why he gets the negative feedback. Man if I get kicked off AZB because of my post, so be it. People need to let this thing die! Get over yourdamnselves cuz your not perfect either!:mad:
 
He got mad at me a few years ago over on Playpool & called
me every name in the book. Then he sent me a PM & said he
was really sorry. I for one like him & he is very , very
knowledgable about the game & its history. Some people
know all the buttons to push with him & ENJOY doing it.
