It's more like particulars of a cue won't matter to someone that knows what they are doing with it. Someone could hand SVB a house cue with a dogleg warp and I bet he would still beat almost everyone that posts here once he got a practice rack in.

Now, to rile up the folks that wanted a lesson for $100 from the Fedor thread: I'd pay $100 to play Shane in that situation because I think it would be hilarious.
You could always lie to your friends and say I played SVB once for a C note, I had him but got lucky.....🤣

yet for 20yrs the same lame topic keeps getting re-hashed. how's this: 'its the player and not the cue'??? feel better now? cue/shaft co's make their living off people thinking they can buy a game, same as golf equip makers. As soon as Scheffler switched to that TM mallet putter the whole world had to have one and they still can't break 100(or get to 500FR in pool).
Have broken 100 a time or to & play above 500 FR speed.

Still don't have a TM mallet putter & probably never will...

It’s the Indian not the arrow.

You can’t play anywhere near Fedor no matter what kind of cue you use.

Instead of thinking about cues, you should spend your money on lessons.

Good players can win with crooked cues off the wall.

Ok now that we’ve got all that out of the way, it looks like Fedor was playing with a different cue at the Derby Bigfoot matches.

Got any info?
I'm a nut for what the pros use as well. Have been for 30 years. I knew that when I finally got my Nick Varner JOSS (30 years too late) that my game would elevate.

I've thrown out a similar challenge before, and it's still open! I'll play anyone in the world if I get to go to Scheel's and buy the cue they need to use. No modifying it by either of us. SVB can take off the plastic wrapper and we play. I'd bet as much as I could manage.

Only idiots take that saying literally/verbatim. It just summarizes the FACT that talent/skill/desire WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY override equipment. Years ago a friend of mine was headed to a pretty big regional event and his cue(runde Schon. he did finally get it back btw) got stolen the night before he left. With a BORROWED sneaky he'd never hit a ball with he went and came in second. Folks having a nice wand is great but its importance is often grossly overrated. NO ONE on here will ever play even remotely like Fedor regardless of what cue/shaft/tip/chalk/glove you use.
Definitely won't play as good as him with any cue. But he would certainly drop down to below my level if I picked his cue...

I watched Jesus Atencio's interview on the Boom & Freezer show and he said when him and Shane met for the first time, they practiced at Griff's for 3-4 hours, playing 8/9/10ball, and Shane was using a house cue and making insane shots from everywhere. He couldn't believe Shane was that good even with a house cue. He was still running out and was still able to apply whatever English he wanted.

I have no doubt about that. House cues are lightyears ahead of the cue I would bring. The ferrules are cheap plastic, the shafts are garbage, and the tips are like cardboard. If he can beat me with that, he could have a nice little pay day! I'd be more impressed than anyone, and I'd even buy him dinner afterwards.

Haha I would pay to see that :ROFLMAO:

I might take that bet, 2 stipulations, you can only use the cue you bring and you must use that cue only.

Why? The whole point is to limit HIS playing ability. I’d still take the bet. I’m guessing you think he’d just try to play a lot of safeties on me and I can’t jump out of them?

I've got a Stryker brand cue that is a little warped that I would bring for him to use. No doubt he'd kick my butt enen then.
