I was at Felt yesterday and they recovered all the bar tables for the big tournament the week end of the 21st.
I think its Championship cloth ?

there are 128 players coming here.
I just thought that they would like to know that they will be playing on brand new cloth and level tables.
This is a big event for Colorado.

Seems like every 5-years or so the pool gods embark on Colorado, and we get a big event.
Not to burst your bubble, but what if Felt was scheduled to recover and level the tables anyway><

I don't know if it was scheduled or not.
But it was done before a large event. Coincidence? Maybe.
This requires that I launch a full investigation.
Stand by.
Sherlock Measureman on the case. :help:

What if Felt really had it scheduled for a re-felt before the conception of this tournament?
Coincidence or not we can't have people thinking that Felt is re-felting because of the tournament, if they were scheduled to re-felt anyway.
It's important that this stuff is fully disclosed which is where you come in.
Please share your investigation with the rest of us as soon as possible.

I got a news flash for you wise guys.....
....It's not FELT
...It's CLOTH

...'course, if it's truly cloth and not felt...
...how come most pool players are as mad as hatters?

I didn't see that controversy coming, but you never know what debate you NPR guys can come up with><
Now that you made me look, it seems to be controversial.

Quote from Pooldawg who I'm sure would be acknowledged as the worldwide expert on this subject:

"Whether you call it pool table cloth or pool table felt, the quality will have a drastic impact on your game. Low grade cloth will completely change the roll of the balls and the speed, which is why we offer cloth from only the most trusted brands in the industry. PoolDawg.com carries Simonis, Mercury Ultra, Titan and Championship Invitational cloth, all of whom produce the world's best billiards cloth. We also offer rail cutting service should you want your rails pre-cut."

No controversy here....calling 'cloth' 'felt' is simply wrong.
I don't care if illustrious members of the industry call it felt or at least
let it slide.........IT AINT FELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If a cat has kittens in the oven, you don't call them biscuits

Mind you, it's nice that the tables are being recovered....
....but
How did they lose them in the first place?

Good to know. Last time I played the bar tables there the cloth definitely was due for a change and the tables I played on definitely had some rolls.

That's the difference between you & me.
I would of questioned Pooldawg as the acknowledged worldwide expert, especially since I'm the only one saying it, and you can't believe what you read on the internet.
The only reason I quoted Pooldawg is because they were the only one saying what I wanted them to say.
If it wasn't for Pooldawg, I would of had to make some shit up.

This is great! Those tables definitely needed it. Now they just have to get decent balls for the barboxes....

I'll go for the name 'Felt Billiards'...as long as fedoras are allowed.

Actually, I don't mind 'felt' as a billiard term. if used poetically....
....the green baize is also cool...
...but my favorite name of this type was Joe Farhat's Velvet Rail...
...in Lansing MI.

...AND I HOPE THE TOURNAMENT IS A BIG SUCCESS

pt...has played poker many times on used billiard cloth instead of felt

BEST WEEKEND AMATEUR EVENT "EVER" ( to date )

This tournament, especially the Nick Varner Amateur Event will go down in the annals of pool history as THE BEST WEEKEND AMATEUR EVENT, "ever" (to date). Mark my words.

Of course it will.
I am not playing but will be there. This alone makes it special.
Measureman-A legend in his own mind.
