Female Mosconi Cup

Have to disagree with you on this one. I think the Euro and Asian teams would make for a great match-up! The Asians may be more skilled, but I think the experience and camaraderie of the Euros would balance that out.

If there were ever such a match and you want to give me any odds favoring the Asians, I'll bet!

I agree with what your saying, the Euro's would be competitive with a female Asian team. But I feel in the end with the skill set the Asian Women have, it would be end up being pure domination...

A women's Team USA would look like your local APA champion playing SVB in the TAR pit.

LMAO our local APA champion has ALOT of patches and pins, just to give Shane fair warning.

On a serious note, Jazzy and Alison don't have to lose to anyone but yeah that Asian roster would get there easilly.

Yeah, I'm with Donny on this. Any female team that has Fisher, Fisher & Corr is going to compete with anyone. That's not to mention the remaining two spots will be adequately filled by a number of worthy players.

With that said, I agree with the general sentiment of this thread that Team USA would have their hands full unless they got Jean Balukas. Balukas may not be enough to balance things out but it would definitely make things much more interesting.

Personally I think that the only 2 American female pro players that could consistently compete with the men on a pro level was Jean Balukas and Loree John Jones....the rest are just B+ level players.

I don't know about that. Jenn Barretta has beaten quite a few good players on the Predator & Joss tours. To suggest she's just a B+ would basically be saying that a B+ can beat a male pro. Personally, I don't think B+'s win races to 9 against male pros.

Well none of those ladies should be allowed to compete on Team Europe anyway. Nor should the men, that live full time in the U.S.

And I highly doubt that is the best team we could make for team U.S. Although they would always be the underdog.

OK, I'll take a shot.

Team America, in no particular order
Jeanette Lee
Monica Webb
Jennifer Barretta
Vivian Villareal
Brittany Bryant

Team America Captain: Dawn Hopkins

Team Europe, in no particular order
Allison Fisher
Karen Corr
Kelly Fisher
Jasmin Ouschan
Gerda Hofstatter

Team Europe Captain: Ewa Laurance

PS For the sake of completeness:

Team Asia, in no particular order
Xiaofang Fu
Siming Chen
Xiaoting Pan
Ga Young Kim
Erica Park

Team Asia Captain: Shin Mei Liu

We can"t even field 4 A players from America. SAD state of pool. Both mens and womens. Hopefully one day it will get better.
If the 5 American women were to play on our tour in Texas which is handicapped, I would only make 3 of them A, and the others B, B+.

And I have a good idea of how that works since we have 2 women local pros, that have done ok on the WPBA over the years. And they are Bs

Can you imagine the odds team America would get in these match ups.

Really??? Maybe you should re-read what I said.........I didnt say GOOD players, I said compete consistently with the male Pros..What PRO players has she beaten on the Predator and Joss tours... and how often Anyone can win in a race to 9....I mean Karen Coor almost beat Johnny Archer at the TUrning stone last year went hill hill......Funny things happen, scratch with 3 balls on the table, early 9 ball combos...But in the long run, who wins,,,.Jen plays well, but hardly in the same catagory as the men Pro players......Im talking about the ability to consistently compete with the Male Pros.....not other b+ players. Jean and Loree John fits the bill.

Kim White
Ming Ng

strong rated "B" players. They are borderline B+, but would be of the weaker B+

Our handicapping system is as follows as well: Triple As go to 10, some occasions 11. A game handicap for each match down.

On October 1 & 2, 2011, Jenn Barretta beat Tony Robles and Jeremy Sossei en route to winning the Predator Tour stop. Admittedly it was a small field but I don't think that's what a B+ does.

Jude once again you are missing the phrase consistently compete...That was 2011.........this is now 2013.. I never said Jen couldnt play....The conditions were right for her that day....Kudos to her.....But, has she done it consitently???on that tour,,,,,,ummmmmmm no.

You are correct. I don't think he is taking it all in.

Hell I once beat one of their boys 11-1, Frankie Hernandez in Florida in a tourney at Als Place in Naples. Would I do it consistently, NO. And he is a real doozy to deal with when your are torturing him.

Okay, perhaps I know where the confusion lies. You said "the rest are just B+s". In your eyes, is a male pro an A?

Actually, I do know what "consistently" means and I knew he'd lean on that word to add stability to his statement. I'm not saying Jenn Barretta is up there with the top men. I'm saying she's no B+.
