Ferrule aiming

I had to post this link although it might well be the most annoying video on youtube, I thought it was interesting relative to the way I've aimed for many years.

This fellow is trying to describe how he aims, (I'll bet lots of you have already seen this, but I happened on it just now.) He says OB when he means CB, but regardless it was interesting to me.

Using the sides of my cue, from my perspective is quick and simple, and offers a line to set up to when you get down.

This guy is describing something totally different, but the interesting thing was when he attempted to draw the blue lines to show how he aimed, it was no more than the edge of the cue.

FYI here is the link to that video.

He's not talking about aiming with the ferrule. He's doing a modification of contact-point-to-contact-point aiming, and the way he found the point on the CB (by drawing a line from the CB to the target pocket) is not geometrically sound.

That was interesting. Never thought of that.

I have a table at home, I'll play around with it for a while.

Thanks for the post. :)

The wrong geometry is finding the cue ball spot closest to the pocket and not the spot on the parallel line corresponding to the object ball entry point.
