When replacing threaded and capped ferrule how much space should be left between tenon end and cap of ferrule? Using 5 min. epoxy how long should you wait before trimming ferrule? thank you.

I drill a tiny glue relief hole through the ferrule , use extra glue, and leave .005-.007". 20-30 minutes, minimum.

Anything under a 1/16 is fine with me. Either way epoxy fills a gap so reasonable space does not matter.
