Uh, it's a stick hitting 2 orbs on a flat surface. Some people over think the game so much that they shark themselves. If you have a problem with deflection or squirt, you need to learn to compensate for it.
True but some shafts make that compensation easier. All cues have deflect. to some degree. I love it when someone at the 'hall tells me his new wonder-cue is 'zero deflection'. Yeah, whatever.

I remember when I was just starting out and a friend loaned me his stick that had huge deflection. I got used to it without knowing what was going on. This was long before "squirt" or "cue ball deflection" was really discussed. The only hint in pool literature was a brief mention by Hoppe that you wanted a cue with "spine".

Anyway, I found myself at the pool hall without my friend's cue so I grabbed one off the wall. That house cue seemed to me to have negative squirt.
