Ferrule Replacement ?

I just received a new cue (new to me) that has a cracked Ivory ferrule. Can it be replaced without the shaft ending up shorter? Fortunately I've never had a cracked ferrule or broken tenon, so this is a first for me.

Thanks.

ferrule can be replaced without losing any length to the shaft

How do you remove the cracked ferrule without damaging the tenon?

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself unless you have a lathe. The two people Mike listed are great! I've had repair work done by Proficient and have a couple DZ cues.

Good Luck!

Not interested in trying to do the repair myself. I'll leave that up to the professionals. I just had a cue refinished and rewrapped by Proficient Billiards and it turned out great. It was pretty beat up when I sent it in, and it looks and feels brand new now.

Thanks everybody.

How long was it gone, from the time you mailed it, until you got it back?

I've shipped them a cue before to get refinished and it took less than 10 days including shipping to/from them.
