We pool players probably have a unique take on society, as a lot our training happened in bars. Most folks have been in bars, but how many have "lived" in them as we have?

When I gambled a lot for beers and low stakes, I learned so much about human nature. I learned how to not allow my opponent to shark me beforehand with some intimidation techniques. But I'm nice up front until someone does something to change my mind and I sometimes think THAT was a unintentional shark by me to them and they took it wrong.

My gambling bud back then used to stand up tall with his cue and puff out his chest to intimidate our opponents. It was a sharking move but very subtle. I saw him the other night for the first time in years and he's quit pool and fighting. Age.
