We've all see the Filipino "chalk markers"..... when a player is shooting near an OB, the "ref" will mark the table with white chalk powder using his finger incase the OB ball is moved.

Question: has anyone ever seen it come into play, where the ball was disturbed and the mark helped replace it? I have not in years of watching them. Have you?

I've never seen it come into play - but I assume it must or they wouldn't do it so much...

I kind of wonder if it’s because it’s a poor country with a large population, and a lot of ppl have tasks just to have a task. For example when I’ve gotten hotels in China, there will be 4 desk girls all taking my registration info together.

i understand why they do it, but their tables are already slow with worn cloth and humid weather. constantly adding talc to the cloth is hardly helpful in that regard.. i would probably be annoyed by the practice

I've probably watched way too many Filipino matches but I've never seen it come into play. I've always wondered the same thing, I find it very annoying.
