I noticed that there were no Filipino players at the Ultimate 10 Ball tournament held this weekend, with the exception of Alex Pagulayan. Was there another event that kept them out? If not, does anyone know why Alex was the only representative?

Well, to be honest, Alex represents more like the Canadian than the Filipino. It's a bit far to travel from Southeast Asia.

I briefly spoke to Alex about that, and he told me that the others would only come over here if there were like 5 events in a row that they could play in. It has to be worth their while to travel and incur all expenses involved. There are probably other reasons, but according to Alex, that was probably the main one.

Filipinos

Thanks for the response. I thought it strange that they were not here, but that answers the question. I appreciate the help.

I think they didnt show up due to the location in Texas. Many pinoys are playing in the Calif billiards shoot out in San Fran bay area running now and over the weekend. One stop in San Fran for 2 tournaments, 1 hole and 10 ball. To play in Texas, they have a sfo-tex-sfo flight and lodging in 2 areas. hmmmm....maybe a way to reduce the pinoy win factor?
