I have fianlly reached my 2000th post over the roughly 4 years I have been a member of AZ. I remember the first time I found the site was right about the time Alex was going to win the US Open and I was trying to find out the score. Since then I have found the site to be a very usefull place for information and news on whats giong on in the pool world as well as a great place for buying , selling and trading pool related itmes. I bet I would have never had so many cues over the course of the past several years because living in a town where all you see are the Meucci, McDermott, Joss and other common names you dont come across the good stuff very often. Even though most of my time has been spent in the Wanted/For Sale section I have really enjoyed the other forums as well. One of the best additions to the site imo has been The Action Room which has just passed it's one year mark earlier this month. There has been few dull moments in there over the last year and we have got to see some great match up's and woofing because of it. Even the NPR section has taken up a lot of my time as I have watched with amusement as the political background of lots of people bring out the heated debates and sometimes even call for some mediation from the moderators...lol.
For myself and some others I would imagine, in the begining you kinda just surf what is going on and eventually work your way up to starting new threads and posts. Another usefull source of info I have found to be is the Tournament Announcements section. You can alomst always find out something worth going to and there have been lots of good tournaments posted there. I have posted several local tournaments there and have had way better turnouts because of it. One of the best things that has happened to the pool community and to those that can not attend the big matches or tournaments is www.theactionreprot.com because it gives people a chance to see the big time money matches and a look into the pool world other than that of leagues and the same old day to day thing, congrats to JCIN and Chad for such a great addition and I hope you guys keep on rolling. Over the last 4 years I have gotten more into pool partly because of all the live streams and being able to hop on the internet and see whats going on or working for days on buying or selling a cue. I have also noticed that your status on AZ carries over to other places and well. You may talk to people you have never met for a long time and make new friends you never would have and then you may be at a tournament or something and talking to someone and they say " what is your name on AZ " and its like you have known them for a long time. In closing I would like to thank everyone on AZ that has made the last 4 years and 2000 post's a good time and hope I make it to 4000.
