Currently using a 2x4 whitten, nice well built and HEAVY.
Looking for a new case with bigger storage and lighter weight, top and side handles as well as padded shoulder strap. No studs or tooling just a classy well made functional case without the big $ tag.
Exhausted my web search without finding what I want, any suggestions?

Have you considered one of John Barton's Mason or Butterfly cases? Both are designed for lighter weight carry. The Butterfly is cool because it is actually 'expandable'. The way John has designed them, you can increase or decrease capacity as needed. He can also do whatever kind of carry strap configuration you'd like.

www.jbcases.com I cannot believe you cannot find SOMETHING on this site that doesn't suit your needs. BTW, what you see in leather can also be done in other materials, decreasing more weight...just an FYI.
 
The sterling and wave cases with the JB interior are really nice, light, protective and inexpensive. I have one I use for storage that is the inexpensive black 3x6. They're as solid as they come even for more dollars but just don't come with the top handle.

To get what you want I suggest contacting John Barton on here via PM or on his Website like Lisa suggested.

I got one of John's 1200 Denier Nylon black 3 x6 prototype cases and it's really solid as well as light. I had him put a handle on the top for a minimal price difference from his standard model. I don't remember exactly what the case cost now but I believe it was only a little over a couple hundred with modifications including their overseas shipping fee. Now that approx price included a few modifications like an extra pocket, a different type of lid and latch as well as that top handle, so I would advice contacting him to work it out if you are interested. Nothing like getting something custom fit to your needs. It didn't take very long to get my ideas put together with John, his wife Karen and their team. I ordered the case during the holidays and it got to me fairly quickly too.

Here's the original case in 3X6 but it also comes in 4X8

My case looks pretty much like this one but in the 1200 denier material with the prototype styled pockets zippered on the side of the pocket and it's a 3 x 6. The one pictured is a 3x4.

Is that your organic rebound or your ultrapad interior??

I've got one of the Sterling Wave cases with your Organic Rebound interiors and it is working VERY well... (Black/Black the colors didn't work for me <GRIN>)

UltraPad - but if we make one custom we can put any interior in that you like.
