I missed it - which state?

And how does a tadpole beat a poet? How can he keep one tail on the floor?

Well, I was there watching for a game or two. DaPoet was leading 6-4, in a race to 9. Apparently he must have made some mistakes to lose the set. Congratulations to BWTadpole!

Actually I was up 6-3 and then Elvis just left the building.

Lol, I'm not making any excuses, the guy beat me fair and square. BWTadpole was extremely polite, a fun guy to play, and a great sportsman.

It was a lot of fun. I have to say it's a whole different dynamic having a single match set up like this. For those who are looking for something new to try, you should check this out.

I'll be back!

Or should it have read, "It was a lot of fun."?

P.S. It's late, and I'm having some fun... LOL

Uh, oh... something's obviously askew.

For it wasn't LAST NIGHT that I saw Da Poet, for I was fast asleep, but it was Friday night when I duked it out with another friend at Chris's...

Da Poet, are you taking "cholinesterase inhibitors" ? http://www.nia.nih.gov/Alzheimers/Publications/medicationsfs.htm

Just wondering !! :grin-square:

There was a Washington state king match on Thursday between me and rcarlson that went hill hill. I love this new idea.

Yeah, I really hope this idea catches on. It could stir up so much regional rivalry. All friendly, of course.

I have to say, it was a real pleasure going out to Chris' and playing Da Poet. He's a real easy-going guy, made me feel comfortable being in a different place, playing someone for the first time. When all was said and done, we shook hands and couldn't hold any bad feelings about the game. We both played the best we could, dealing with the pressure, and sure had a lot of fun along the way! I'll take you up on that drink sometime after I turn 21. :grin-square:

The kind of weird twist to it all was after the match, we stuck around for the 9 ball tournament and got put together the first round! Right after that long set, we got thrown into a rematch! :p

Scott, it was nice meeting you, and I'll be sure to keep my eye out for the defensive plays more often.

More great thing to come.

AZBilliards is considering the feasibility of incorporating a LADDER system to keep track of the matches and challenges.

More to come in the near future.

Ladder System

The Ladder System would require a person to challenge their way up the ladder rather than challenging the King himself, right off.

This would allow some of the fun matches to take place between lesser players.

I'm glad to see that people are actually participating in this. I'd like to see AZ get a little involved and maybe come up with a point system. Congrats to the Illinois but maybe temporary king.

Hah, thanks. I don't plan on this being very long, so no worries.
