First cue that checked

Just wanted to show this cue the way it is before I go and have to change the handle wood. Noticed today that it started to move so I'm going to strip off the handle and replace it with a piece of curly walnut I think. The joint is water buffalo with an antler ring.

If someone would like to tell me what the pinkish wood is that would be great also so I don't get anymore. It was part of a package deal of some other stuff I bought over a year ago.

Thanks,

Was the handle cored?

The handle is cored with a tenon turned down from the cocobolo. The tenon is about .750. When I put the new wood on it I will put another phenolic ring on the other side of the handle. Not sure I like the look of just one ring.
