I received the first two fully functional DigiBalls manufactured with the standard phenolic process. Perfectly round, regulation weight, and balanced as designed. They work perfectly. Each ball has a single black spot which is the charging location, and is placed face down on this spot when charging. It reminds me of a bumper pool ball, or an eye ball 😊

Thank you to everyone who has supported me this far, and for the non-supporter’s comical feedback. This project has been very challenging. The next step is making more, group testing, expensive FCC stuff, and launching.

Sounds like there's been quite a bit of discussion about this already, but this is the first time I'm hearing about it. What's the targeted price point? Targeted availability date?

Any way to sign up to be a tester?

Sooooo happy for ya man. Congrats on doing something that you want to do and seeing it through.

Woah congratulations!! It would be cool if they start using it a televised events and we would get all kinds of stats and "this has been the hardest break so far in the tournament!" kind of commentary.

What are the main applications you think will the digiball will be used for?

Congrats on the public birth...

I know some people that work in law enforcement.

Is it possible to add a microphone or tracking device to the billiard ball and sell those items discretely?

I am interested in the billiard ball having a microphone or tracking functions via bluetooth or wifi.

Have you thought about possibly doing a black and blue measles to match your branding and also allow for visual cues for the players and observers?
Maybe in the future but these are cosmetic details. I have a ton of other work to do to get this launched, especially keeping the price reasonable. I may not even do a pre-release group product test, because most of the feedback will be small app improvements and tiny details that will introduce a lot of design creep. The group/individuals will get upset if I don't implement all of their suggestions.

I've tested it enough and is functionally sound. I think I am just going to release what I already have as soon as possible instead.

There is a lot of information able to be displayed. IMO, sometimes too much is worse than not enough.
I can remember when baseball was about having a good swing and barreling the ball. Today it’s a game
of metrical analysis like bat speed, launch angle, spin rate, reaction time, mph exit velocity vs. pitch speed.
In golf, it becomes even worse with swing metrics and it’s a game where the ball remains perfectly stationary.

I wonder if it’s a tool best intended for instructors to teach with instead of a player because of paralysis by analysis. Sometimes too much information complicates the problem when a more fundamental approach accomplishes more. We all know about KISS and augmenting that with capsules of information for specific type shots yields improvement. It’s is what every player aspires to achieve. Gosh, how did we ever play pool before computers?

p.s. I am a big fan and proponent of Digicue and DigiBall …….both are very creative approaches to pool.
