Hello fellow AZrs I am going to the expo for the first time and wanted to bring some cues to sell or trade that had ivory in them. Just wanted to know if I will have a problem since I am not familiar with the laws regarding ivory and I have been told so many different things I would rather hear from some experts thanks!!

If you were from pennsylvania there are no law problems that I know of, but if you are not from pa then you might be breaking the law.

Not sure about each states rules or laws. I'm sure if you aren't going around announcing you have ivory in the cues and do it quitely, you shouldn't have any issues.

If you arent part of a booth, dont try to sell them at the Expo, unless you’re selling to a booth.

Sell or trade to a booth is the safe way to go, but people sell on the floor
trying to be very low key. If you get caught they will kick you out. I would
post what you have here no shipping and must pickup at sbe only. I have
done that with a couple of cases and it worked well. Just do the swap outside
and your ok.

What jasonlaus said. However, I have seen people removed from the floor years ago when they went around with their cues sticking out of their case and a sign advertising them for sale. As someone else said, let people know on here what you will have and give a number that they can use to get in touch with you. You can even show the cues to a prospective buyer inside the Expo, just don't do it in front of a cue vendor's booth.

I have sold a few cues over the years by going to a dealer and getting him to sell it.
...I steer prospective buyers to it.
Everybody is comfortable with this arrangement...work out your own deal on the percentage
you'll be giving to the dealer....they are paying for that space.

Beats all that ducking and dodging and feeling guilty.

I’m going for the first time. Anyone know if they have mini tournaments like the apa does in Vegas ? I heard they do but don’t see anything on the website about it.

Sometimes. Yes sometimes no.. it’s very hit or miss and with the amount of players in it this year I wouldn’t count on many if any

In the past there's a room on the left at the front that was the money room. Funny, it was the only quiet place at the expo.

Five or six years ago I watched a very good fat kid play $20. 9-ball in the main hall. He made $20. every five minutes. I watched for a long time, never saw him loose and there was always somebody waiting in line.

I never even go in that room anymore.. to me that room represents every thing that’s wrong about pool.
