First time playing 1 Pocket

Last night I played 1pocket for the first time and IT was FUN AS HELL!!!!!!

The guy who i was playing against, rarely gets to play 1hole, because hardly anyone plays anything but 8ball or 9ball in my town.

So we are playing 2$ a ball. And after him telling me the rules, we go at it.

First two racks its back n forth, neither of can really take advantage. But i am pulling out the wins because of some amazing shots i am pulling outa my AZZ! Several times during the games I made some unbelievable back cut banks, and cross cut banks, from some of the wildest angles. All of these banks where made when 1 or 2 balls were left on the table and it was for the rack win. So it wasnt like i was trying wild shots all the time.

But for the several racks that we did play it was fun as hell. I did end up losing the last rack, badly though i ended up having to make a long 2ball combo down and just missed it, which allowed him to run out his last 6 balls for the win.

So overall i ended up losing 14$ but, it was fun as hell.

Plus it makes me want to play this game a whole lot more!

Yep, wait until you figure out some moves! Or run 8 and out.

I like one hole too, because of all the banking you get to do, and the creative stuff you can come up with. I'm a fledgling at it, but do appreciate the intricacies of the game.

It also seems to be the fairest game to match up.

Good to see another one who is interested in learning 1h. There are far too few people willing to learn the game. Where I am, there might be 2 or 3 people that will play with me that are reasonably even with me. Everyone else only wants to play 8 or 9.

I've always said how can you not like a game where a carom-bank shot, or a 2 or 3-rail bank, or a 2 rail bank-carom shot is often a viable offensive shot? And how can you not enjoy the feeling of burying your opponent in the pile while leaving a ball right in front of your pocket? Hardly anything is more satisfying than forcing your opponent to sacrifice a ball to you.

One pocket = tricky. You can really learn some stuff that can apply to your 8/9 ball games. I've only played it a few times myself - I need to play some more.
