I believe it is rosewood but not sure. I did not buy the cue new, I bought it used off of craigslist. I have mistaken rosewood and cocobolo before. Maybe Mr. Fisher will see this and chime in .

COCOBOLO, dark and heavy. I remember the cue, I went through a stage of building alot of cocobolo cue's 2-3 years ago.
