Check out this auction - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7161351617&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

It looks legit, so I went to bid on it, only you have to be on his approved bidders list. No problem, I sent him an email, and this was the response:

"Hello there,

I would be glad to put you on the approved bidder list .First of all let me know if you agree with my reserve price of 1200.00 US$?
You have to know that bidding is restricted since I am carefully with my auctions,I had multiple problems in the past with nonpaying bidders so that's why I want to use a third party so both of us will be protect -Square Trade eBay Service.
The Square Trade service is supervised by eBay and you can read more about this service by opening www.ebay.com and click the services bottom.
I will like you to know that I am affiliated at eBay Square Trade , I have a purchase protection account for 20,000.00$ and I assume you know what this means. So,the finacial part of this deal will be manage by them.
-the payment will be handeled by a third party(eBay Square Trade),that means that the payment will be hold by them until you receive the item .
If you are agree with this terms please let me know your shipping name and address, phone #,eBay user ID and I will open a case with Square Trade. They will send you my full name and payment address.

Have a nice day and e-mail me back asap!"

This tells me scammer, as all of the thieves/scammers LOVE to use squaretrade, since they can copy their websites/emails with ease......

I emailed him back and asked if he would use Proficient as an escrow service... Any honest seller would be open to that, especially since I said that I would pick up the cost.

No response at all to this..... My advice - stay away.

Definitely a scam. They copied another auction too. Square Trade is not an escrow service - it's just a policy and dispute resolution.

I just reported the auction to E-Bay. It takes them about 24 hours to cancel it and they will contact anyone who e-mailed the seller.
