FL, Merritt Island, Satellite Beach, Melbourne/beach where to shoot

JT4Annapolis

JT in FL now
I am moving end of Feb to this area and looking for best places to shoot. I will be renting for a couple months in Melbourne Beach until I find a house in Satellite, possibly Merritt or somewhere near by. I like a mix of leagues and tournaments I see Merritt has two halls near each other. I will probably just check everywhere out but curious any advice or hidden hole in the wall place with good players.

That old eh?

Sorry, moving to Florida joke LOL ;)

A while ago Florida was a big hub for pool, don't think it's as bit now as it was since the Seminole tour folded.

https://www.floridapooltour.com/pages/schedule has tournament and room listings.

That Waldos place looks like it would be fun and worth a trip up there.

There are actually a bunch of nice looking and well reviewed rooms near the coast where Melbourne Beach is although they may be a longer drive than just looking at the map gives me. Shooters in Port St. Lucie if you like Diamond tables. I linked the tour because you may get some tournaments from that to go to. Level of players should be strong, similar to Joss and Predator tours in NY/N.E. areas.

Isn't Players on Aurora Road (Melbourne) still open? It was a pretty good room for a long time. I think Sandaler plays there.

Found it.

Golden cue. I believe it is closed these days.

Vero beach is alittle bit of a drive but poolies vero is a great non smoking room
with leagues tournaments and action
poolies vero was styx and stones in vero now under new management

Well, there are certainly some places to play. Depends on what you prefer. There really aren’t any true pool halls in the area. Most of the places to play are bars with pool tables and leagues. (APA). There isn’t much going on in Vero, or PSL. If you want to play in a serious pool hall you have to go north to Jax, south to Ft L, or west to Tampa. A few of the places mentioned have some diamonds and tourneys on a regular basis. Send me a pm if you want the skinny, Doc
