Yes,Marty is a character for sure, and he is a great pool player. That cue had a matching lizard wrap on it before the previous owner took it off and put that linen on it. I think it didnt help it IMO,

Thats kinda funny because i thought it might look alot better wth a lizard wrap and now you tell us the truth ............. Yes i dont think it did a "thing" for the cue either ......... :D

I think he did the same thing with a Bill Webb cue as well. This guy ought to wait at least a week before he trys to resell something. Surely nobody buys these so soon?

Mottey

I don't wan't to be rude. But do you guys think you are the only people that buy and sell cues. Let the guy run an ad and try to make some moneywith out ripping on him. Are you gonna tell me that nobody here wants to make money on a cue. Come on guys. Leave him alone and everybody else that happens to buy a cue that you guys knew was for sale and knows mabye what he has in it.

I'll keep that in mind Painpool ;).When I see an 800 dollar cue starting to bid at 2k I keep my money in my pocket.

That's funny,I missed the Mottey for $800. When did he post the cue for that price? I will buy a similar Mottey for $800 if you have another.

Who said Mottey? I didn't mention Mottey so don't quote me and than use my post out of context.
Thanks
Andy

Your response was to an opinion titled Mottey. I'll still take one for $800, though. Thanks STB

I'm with PainPool on this one. So what if I bought a cue on AZ and resold on ebay, or vice-versa. Each site has a different audience and potentially different buyers. I don't care how much a cue has sold for in the past. If I buy one, I don't care how much the guy I get it from is going to make off of it. All I worry about is whether or not the price is right for me. I'm in the middle of a cue deal that I will make about $500 on a $2000 cue. The guy knows how much I paid for it, and he's still happy with my price. Who cares.
I think those of you who try to bash a guy for doing that are just jealous if he gets his price. IMO

Jealous, ha .....not really at all im pretty much thinking that the consumer buying the product is ill advised of its worth for the most part............... I could care less about the buyer totally and am more interested in an "educated consumer" or educating a consumer ............... :)

I agree about educating a consumer, but you are confusing that with a guy making money on the cue. I have seen many people pay $200 plus for a Lucasi or Players (no offense to anyone), and pass on a used McDermott or Joss for less than $100. If I buy a cue and am happy with the price, who would you be to tell me I shouldn't be happy. I try to get them educated before they purchase any cue, but many, many people are happy paying full retail for a production cue. Its just not for me anymore. You say that you are intersted in an educated consumer, but state that you could care less about them? Explain if I missed something in your message. We may be on the same page here. If you go to ebay or AZ to buy cues, I would highly recommend surfing for at least a month to see what sells quickly, for how much, etc. Many potential cue buyers simply don't want to do that.

What i meant was i could care less about the seller not the buyer ............ If youre stupid enough to pay that kind of money for something than you deserve to be labeled( especially if you dont know what you are buying).....
I beleive there is a difference between buying and selling and buying and price gouging................I have been playing and involved in pool for 18 years and i know a few things about cues ive probably owned only about 300 cues in my life and have sold many to locals who have never once had a problem with my cues either but im not trying to "rip their eyes out" either ............ Always treat people the way you would want to be treated .......... I for one like to buy and sell so i understand to a point the buy low and sell high but be fair at the same time............. :)

Buy low, sell high... nothing wrong with that as long as the cue is honestly described. I know of a similar style Mottey cue that came through my town for a cheap price because it was Ivorine-3. I was offered the cue in trade two buyers later and suddenly all the white was ivory and of course a higher price.
