I'm sure that sometime in the past I read some things about Jay Flowers and the cases he made but I can't find that resource.

Does anybody know where I can study his work and obtain some history thereof?

Thanks, Jim (I have two nice examples of his work and want to learn more about the man and the art he produced)

Chris Tate has put together some useful information. Also talk to Smorg as he probably knows as much about Jay as anyone.

I met him at one of the Vegas tournaments and we had a nice conversation where he told me he started the whole tube case style.

My friend Andi Sattler was responsible for bringing Jay Flowers cases to Germany in the early 90s and I owned one of them. In fact, I disassembled mine in order to study the patterns. The Jay Flowers case was what I owned when I started building cases.

Chris said that Jay had an assembly line operation in his garage. Jack Justis said he heard that the case were made in Mexico. I don't think that they were made in Mexico. I can believe the assembly line aspect though.

Both of mine are stamped with "Handcrafted by NH" I wonder who that is?

Thanks for the link John... and thanks to Tate for the interesting and revealing write-up on Flowers. Both of mine have the same stamp as Tate shows and my tan 2x4 looks very much like the one in the picture... and mine is just as nice :D :D :groucho:

Any more info re: JEF aka Jay Flowers? I thought sure I"d read about him in Stein's Billiard Encyclopedia but I couldn't find anything.

It Was Jay's Earliest Personal Case With JAY FLOWERS Name Down The Side

I thought there was information about Jay Flowers at this site http://tampabilliards.com/

There are some interesting stories and memories and information about Jay, if you can get anyone to respond to you there.

(waiting to trade my Flowers case to JB Cases when he has completed my special 1 of 1 basket case (3x4))
