Check out www.kayak.com when you are considering purchasing airline tickets. It combines a bunch of the cheapticket type sites into one search.

As a quick example I searched 1/3/08 - 1/13/08 from Grand Rapids to Louisville for the Derby City week and the total cost was $253 round trip.

Pretty cool site thought I would share.

Sites like that are helpful to find which airline is offering the least expensive flights... but, in my experience, you will always find that purchasing from the airline directly will result in the lowest cost to you... as all of these types of sites (Expedia included) tack on a premium (~$20/ticket) for the service they provide you... fwiw.

And... be advised that some airlines block themselves (somehow) from being listed by these types of sites... a good example is you will not find Southwest Airlines listed in a search that you do using expedia.com... again, fwiw. So it helps to know which ones block themselves and go access their websites directly to see if they have the least expensive airfare to your destination.
