foam

I got a chance to observe a broken low deflection shaft that had been broken up near the tip. It had been hollowed out and filled with a foam substance to help reduce deflection. Anybody know what substance this is and is it inserted in a liquid form as anything inserted under pressure to that hole in the end of the shaft would suffer from blowback?

it might be the spray stuff for filling gaps in insulation and stuff.it comes in a spray can and you spray just a little and then it expands 3-4 times it's size.i forget the name of it but you can get it at Wal-Mart.

Great Stuff................

Use the low expansion type.

Basically has no value to the cue except to fill the void and eliminate any chance of a rattle if something came loose.
