I'm adding to this old thread, hoping to keep some curiosities together.
Here's strange item on ebay:
VINTAGE BILLIARDETTE STYLE MINIATURE POOL TABLE--COIN OPERATED--1930's--UNIQUE!
What really gets me is:
-the shape of the pockets
-the number of pockets
-the weird, almost random spacing of the pockets.
Does anyone know anything about these or their history?
What's up with the 8 pockets? Is that what they mean by skirting prohibition laws? Were there any anti- pool/ billiards laws then, and if so, did they count pockets?
Also- would there have been yellow balls, too, to make 15 obs?
