For COM experts

BJ,
My hearing isn't what it used to be but I thought
the bartender was asked to call "Ted" after the 100 is
placed the table. My captioning says "Ted" was to
be called. So how do you hear it? It seems to me that
Ted is a lot more likely name than Dud. Dude maybe,
but Dud? I don't know squat about making movies, is
it possible the credits are wrong?

I hear "Ted" , what do others hear?

Thanks
Joe

...in my experiencing, captioning is often wrong. But....
- I heard it as "Dud"
- Credits list him as "Dud"
- several online screenplay sites quote him saying "Dud"

sorry, but I think it's "Dud"

St. Louis Louis gets called to play Larry Schwartz in a Semifinals match - as Newman is playing Kennedy.

Does he actually appear in the scene? He is the only player I've seen listed as appearing in the movie that I've never actually spotted in the film.

BJ,

Yes. They call Louis over the inter
com but neither guy playing is him.

No apologies needed, I guess it is Dud.
I just don't hear very well anymore.
Thanks.

Freeshot.

Louis appears in the line for tournament
registration behind Fast Eddie very briefly.

Thin nose, curly dark hair. He was known
to be very popular with the ladies.

I know he was a technical advisor to the film, and was on the set of the movie in Chicago....but I have not been able to actually spot him in the movie itself...perhaps he was in the stands during the Atlantic City (Navy Pier) tournament scenes?

Thanks. I haven't watched it in awhile, but I have it on my DVR so I plan to re-watch it some time in the near future.

You are not right but you could very well have been. If you look at the goof section on IMDB it is amazing the mistakes they make in movies. The Godfather actually has a book written showing what an mess the movie really is. They were writing the script sometimes hours before shooting the scene. They say things that make no sense have no continuity, make references to things that were probably cut from the movie because they make no sense. One of the greatest movies of all time, yet one of the worst made movies of all time..

I think that makes 8 pool pros that appear on screen in the color of money....of which 5 have speaking roles.

Yes there were many problems, fights that could easily have derailed GF1 from being perfect movie.
Copolla was last choice to direct . He didn't like Puzo's novel. Brando and Pacino were also last choices. Many others were considered ahead of them. Coppola wanted to fire Pacino but kept him after restaurant scene. The studio didn't like the dim dark lighting of movie and wanted it changed to bright colorful stuff. Thank God they didn't :D
