...you are wrong.

Grady Matthew's character was "Dud"...as evidenced when Newman walks in..puts a $100 bill on the rail, and a guy at the bar says "Call Dud" ... next scene, Newman is playing Grady.

The black character in that bar -played by Forest Whitaker- was named Amos...as in "you a hustler, Amos?"

The tall black short stop at Chalkies was Moselle...as in "him you stay away from"

The black gentleman running Chalkies was Orvis...and,

The black gentleman who was the whale at Chalkies was "Earl"

And the black gentleman that got a free ride from Al Cowlings was O.J. Simpson!

Does he actually appear in the scene? He is the only player I've seen listed as appearing in the movie that I've never actually spotted in the film.

You can spot St Louis Louis in few scenes. There is a very quick glimpse of him in line close to Fast Eddie when he is registering for the tournament. Also, when Eddie walks into the 'practice room' for the tournament, Louis is the one that shoots the trick shot where all the balls are pocketed in one stroke (I think) and the guy that plays Eddie later in the finals (Kennedy) is the one that throws the money on the table.

I also seem to think that there is another scene where you can spot Louis but I can't remember it right off the top of my head.

BJTyler...While Louis Roberts was cast as an extra, he was not a technical advisor for COM. Mike Sigel, Keith McCready and Freddy the Beard were, however...McCready being the only one with a major speaking role.

I know he was a technical advisor to the film, and was on the set of the movie in Chicago....but I have not been able to actually spot him in the movie itself...perhaps he was in the stands during the Atlantic City (Navy Pier) tournament scenes?
