I have lathes , I know lots of people who own lathes, I know where to buy all kinds of cue parts .
I got sand paper and a drill :thumbup:

I thought they all hit the same. You're just paying for inlays and artwork in the price differences.
Also thought they balanced about the same too.
You can't get them all to balance the same that's obvious but with Schon
I always thought they got their cues within the same plus or minus certain
balance point.
So I think a 400 dollar Schon hits the same as a 1500 dollar Schon.
Assuming they're new cues, and not 80's stuff.

To the OP: the more I think about it I would get a Tiger sneaky with any
of the Tiger shafts that you prefer.
They hit amazing and you can get one with a wood to wood joint.

I only tried them in about 2005 and had tried several that players used and also had 10-15 new ones laid out on the table in a showroom and test hit each one and found the very top models with inlays had a much better balance point and hit than the lower and medium models that I hit with. So i am guessing they put more effort into ensuring the top models were better balanced. IMHO.

Similar to the top custom cues, you can buy an early 1990's low model Black Boar and hit with the higher models full of inlays within the same range and they will be much better balanced. I am not a cuemaker so it could be either the different materials used or more effort was put into balancing the cue.

Predator. plays great, well made, easy to buy, lots of dealers, lots of used shafts around.

The only issue with predators is that the shafts are not consistent. I have owned about a dozen of them from Limited to Special Edition and the shafts do not hit consistently across the board and the balance on the lower to medium models are not desirable. IMHO

I owned 4 P2 Predators including the SE and all of them had very different balance. There was only one of them that I found to be a good hitter. This is only my opinion
