Ivor-X at .562 by 1.050" long weighs around 5.9 grams.
It has a 3./16 thick cap on top.
It has an unthreaded portion at the bottom for a .320" by .185 or so shoulder.
I usually turn the tenon to .320" by 1" long.
Dry fit that tenon to the bottom of the ferrule to see if it's just right.
If it is, keep a shoulder of .320 by .180, then turn the rest of the tenon to .280" up to the top.
Whack off the top so the tenon doesn't bottom out ( around .820" long total ).
Bullet nose it with a file.

I recommend getting a Dremel, small threader and the Dremel mount from Todd here. That way you don't use a die and you can keep that shoulder at the bottom for strength.

Any of those epoxies will do.

Ivor-X machines easily. It has no weaves or pits. Don't get too aggressive with the sand paper. Use a pad and 600 grit or finer on top of that pad.
Then polish with 800 and up.

Thanks Joey

I recieved my 50 Ivor-x ferruls today. Nice.

Thanks

Alan

Thank you too Alan.
Btw, for those who like them shorter, you can always take it to your bandsaw and whack off about .200 at the bottom, reface so you get 3/4 long or so and then ream it (5/16 ) for the shoulder.
Do not take the cap off though.

I have 75 pieces right now if someone wants some.
