Ring count
I have been asked by several, the ring count.
10-12, 9-11, the one everyone think looks like curly maple-too many to count, the other 15-18.
Please do not ask ring count by number of shaft and keep in mind these are all less than 1".
I know the photos do no justice. These were made into 1" boards in 1940-1950, that is 60-70+ years of aging. Being well aged, they are heavier and more dense than the snow whit wood that is available today. They are not lake salvage.
I was surprised to find how hard and dense it is.
I have more of this than I can use for myself. I am not interested in making shafts!
I just want to share this find with others.
Roger
