Please don't reply to "Wanted" ads inside the thread. Just send a PM. Stop pimping your products and pushing everyone else's ads down the list. I see people do this regularly who have been here longer than I (you know who you are), and they should know better.

Again, if there is a "Wanted" ad in the W/FS section, just send a PM. It's very simple.

Thanks for your time.

The admins could solve the problem by making threads in that forum "Reply by original poster only" (setting in the forum software) but for some reason they've chosen not to. My experience is that when it gets down to negotiation everyone has the good sense to take it offline via PMs anyway, so why not direct it there from the outset?

+1

thanks for the input

I think unsolicited exchanges often add value to the sale section.

Lots of people know lots of stuff about cues, around here.

If people wouldn't reply to "wanted ads" in the threads, we would just have to spend our time reading threads like this. Time is valuable. Use it wisely.

Good ole AZB you can always count on at least 1 "Whats for sale here" There sure are a lot of hall monitors on this site lol...

im not sending a pm when i can simply reply to the thread

If ur buying, that's fine. It takes the same amount of time to send a PM though.

But tired of those posting how much they like the cue ? Who cares if someone not buying the cue likes it or not....I'm selling the cue, I already know it's a great cue. ;)

it's mildly more involved to send a pm;) i only reply to for sale threads if im interested in whats being sold.

I posted this because I see threads looking to buy a certain type of cue. Then thirty people post in the thread and it stays at the top all day, slowly pushing down everyone else ad's. That is just inconsiderate IMO.

Responses like, "I'll take it", or something informative about the cue for sale I don't really mind. But some of this crap is bad. Besides this being my opinion, it's also common sense, and it even happens to be in the forum rules. To each his own I suppose.

The problem is that if you're selling, your listing only appears on the first two pages for a short amount of time. New listings come on pretty quickly and bump you to the nether-pages.

The problem is compounded when people reply to a thread (and push it to the front) with meaningless comments like "I've played with this cue. It hits a ton!" It's especially aggrevating when it's another frequent seller and they do this for each other.
