For those that prefer a gentleman's game.

A gentlemen’s game?
You’ll find that in the carom forum.

Sunny Akani ...we'll be seeing lots more of this kid..no shame to lose that 6-5.
..looks like a barrette holding his hair...but it could become a money clip eventually.

I remember my sister wearing those in her hair in the 1950s.

Another thing I noticed was early in the match when he was in his chair he was forcing his lips to raise as in a smile. I remember reading something about that. Psychology Today has an article titled, "There's Magic In Your Smile", from 2012. Later in the match it was a genuine smile. (similar to Efren) This young man will do well.

Ronnie was champion before he was born, has to be his hero. He emulates him in so many ways. He was able to bring his best under pressure and that is something to be proud of.

one more thing

I am not !00% but pretty sure I saw his eyes on the cue ball last. Will double check when I find it on youtube. The score was 3-2 and ball count 9-5 when they showed his eyes as he struck the ball.

Here is a link to the shot I was thinking of his eyes. Hard to tell, looks like they are following the cue ball.

I think he's looking at both, Greg.
When you're in dead stoke, you see it all...in this case, the object ball is in the middle of
the clock..cue ball is at six o'clock.

Normally, when you're jacked up, you see the cue ball only at the hit...
..when you're in dead punch, whitey is middle of the clock, object ball is at twelve o'clock.

`One of my early mentors, Harvey Rothwell, called it 'wide angle vision'..........
...you see everything.
Rifle sight aiming doesn't do enough...you gotta see both balls, consider the nap
roll, and if you're spinning, you gotta see the curve, with and against the nap.
To me, this is why the 'feel' players are the best in the long haul....
...they see it all.

Sorry about that. I use adblock and still have to hit 2 X's then quickly close annew tab if it opens. Now the match is on YouTube.

My favorite exchange in the match

My favorite part of the match was the end of the 5th frame. After Ronnie had run a century and a 98 to tie the match at 2-2. This link picks it up where Ronnie makes a long hard shot on the blue and gets snookered on the pink. It is interesting to note the expressions of both players as this frame comes to an end.
