They always have a great turnout with lots of top talent.

How about you Josh? Are you going to replace those plastic cards with a piece of wood?

I'm going to try and make it over there for Friday evening.

Starcade is a very nice tournament room. I used to live there for a few years back when Andy was alive. The tournaments always seemed to fill up with great payouts. This was back in the early 90's.
Keith and Jerry Bentos played in the finals one year, that was a GREAT weekend. And I have several memories of Scotty from Starcade. MAN...
I miss those days.

Andy Grubbs Memorial Tournament

Starcade is a very nice tournament room. I used to live there for a few years back when Andy was alive. The tournaments always seemed to fill up with great payouts. This was back in the early 90's.

Yes, Robyn still is co-owner and still runs a great tournament. They usually have the barbecue grill cranked and there are usually LOTS of good quality players. They even put out little packets for each player, some chalk, a powder bag if you use powder and something else but I forget what the other item is. Robyn's wife make custom crystal menageries and I try to buy one to bring to my wife to apologize for taking off to go to yet another tournament.

This event is being held the same weekend as the Florida Pro tour event down at Hammerheads. It is a $9000 added event, so I am not sure how many of the pros will be going up to Ft. Walton Beach.

I am going to be at Hammer Heads for the Florida Pro Tour. Its a Shame because Robyn runs a class event and I would luv to be there. If you go let him know I will be thewre to defend my January Title LoL.

Doc, actually I am salivating abut the $25,000 ADDED that the Seminole Sports Management is adding to the season's finale. It would only cost me $400 to enter since I have never played in a Men's Florida Pro Tour. Otherwise if I were a regular it woud be $200. Sounds reasonable I guess.
That tournament is around the end of OCtober in Hollywood Florida.

A rather great player has invited me to Fort Walton Beach Florida for training and competition and now since I see Doc is going to be there I can't wait.


I thought they were going to start back up the annual Senior's Tournament but according to the info from Kevin Picard, that isn't in the picture at the moment. Still, you have to wish those guys the best.

When I get a hold of Kevin Picard, I'm going to ask him WHY they don't have a tournament in Pensacola.

TonyC, I don't guess you will be missing the end of October tournament but good luck this coming weekend and I will pass on your thoughts to Robyn.
