Foul or No Foul?

Utterly bizarre. Push shots are absolute tripe. thanks for clarifying, as I wasn't sure if it was one of those ambiguous rules that exists only in some contexts. Hope they get removed from the game. Double hits can perhaps be acceptable if attempting a massé or similar difficult shot, I'd hate to see creative shot making removed from the game. But push shots are absolute filth.
You may want to looks at the rules of the various games you play more closely. It's clear that you currently have only very limited knowledge of any of them.

... a reasonable effort has been made to avoid a double hit and consider that a lack of clear and compelling evidence of a foul. ...
No. "A reasonable effort" is irrelevant here. You have to go by whether a foul occurred or not. That's the way rules work.

Yes... very, very limited indeed… not sure I understand the hostile attitude here Bob? I’m pretty new to games on an American table, no secret there, but I’d say I have a pretty decent grasp of the games I play. I’m still learning…

To be honest, most of the rulings are obvious, and there’s a whole bunch of ambiguous stuff that needs cleaning up or removing… same can be said for snooker. The issue is, settling on definitives that suit everyone regarding such things.

Push shots are disgusting. In any cue sport. Whether allowed or not, they’re worth arguing with purely because they’re so damn gross 😂

This video was not a push, nor was it a double hit.
