Who ever the billiards technician is that recovered the tables at the Fox & hounds in Canton, OH last, you're a lazy ass piece of shit as a billiards technician. I just had to let you know that, after not only having to pull out the last staples you recovered the rails with, but also the last 4 recoveries worth of staples as well. Not only that, I had to replace all the pocket screws you DID'NT put back in the pockets, and all the missing side skirt bolts you didn't see a need in putting back in the rails. I've already had a conversation with the district manager of the Fox & Hounds in that area, I don't think you'll be recovering the tables for them any more. You're a real piece of shit as a billiards technician is all I can say!

LOL... Oh come on now Glen... that thar is qwalitee werk. :D

My sympathies!

Glen - been there myself semi-recently. A local room with 10 Valley tables was using a fly by night operation for their last 4 previous recovers and did the same to me. I had blisters all over my palms and fingers by the end of day two pulling literally thousands of staples. I work strictly alone and the job would generally take me only 2 days. Spent nearly triple the time I should have. Also, should have charged the place double for doing the work that should have been already been done. So, I empathize with you on this one. Vent away!

If I did that, I'd get kicked off AZ for life....lmfao. I didn't think of taking pictures of the rails before I pulled all the staples, all I could think of after I had them pulled was what a hell of a pile of staples...LOL I kid you not, these are from ONE set of rails...LOL. I don't need a dark alley to meet this guy in...hell, it could be 12 noon in the middle of the mall, I wouldn't care...LMAO.

I also inclosed a couple of pictures of the pocket work after I was done just for kicks...LOL

Thats a helluva lot of staples!!! i think i might be following the same guy on the east coast, only with 9/16 staples!!!!!!! Glen, your pocket looks
great!! I am not sure if this has been touched on here but every time i
have seen this type of finishing the guy has folded the tabs under w/staples,then second strip of cloth stapled to face, staples in face have been fairly close together to keep a straight line when he went to wrap underneath. Then stapling underneath this added up to about 15-20 stapes per pocket. Seemed to be a lot of staples! Is there a better way??
Again first class work!!!

I use either 1/4" or 5/16" staples to attach the flaps first, but I staple them into the end grain of the backer board not underneath. Then I zipper stitch the extra cloth in the end grain, then fold it down underneath the backer board with 8 staples. If you keep as many staples you can in the end grain of the MDF, they pull out real easy if you use short staples. I finish my pockets this way, because I don't like air pockets, slits or staples in my finished pocket look. I attach the pocket flaps with 1/2" x 1/2" staples, because MDF won't last in time always attaching the flaps with screws. Trust me, the use of MDF may be good for the manufactures, but it's lousy for a billiard technician in the long run. I wish manufactures would NEVER use MDF for backing the slates, it's the worst material there is for backing slates.
