Francisco Bustamante vs. Jayson Shaw

busty is annoyed he mis-stunned his 7 to fall on the rail and far away for the 8. Ended up frozen to the 9 with no pocket. Tried leaving J long and he fired it in and played "W-shape", it was beautiful. He did some amazing practice draw stroke shots earlier.

Shaw's figured out the break too and is starting to pop that ball into the side, but seldom seems to come up with anything on the 1. An error early gives busty an open rack. busty just fell a bit short on the 6 and had to do a thin bridge cut. Otherwise smooth sailing.

9-7 busty.

edit: freddie, will they take a dry break into a 1-10 combo as a runout? :P That was busty's first game.

Although I haven't put any money down, im telling you this is a bad match up for Bustamante. Ive seen thousands of professional pool matches, and Jayson Shaw is the real deal. He plays like a cross of ronnie o sullivan and mike sigel. He has been tearing up Europe for awhile now, and Busty has his hands full with this confident left hander.

Right on, if it weren't for a few dumb mistakes he'd be way out front.

Still no danger of a runout. Busty was forced to do a curve-past-the-kitchen-line-and-back -to-the-headrail type of shot. Nice hit. He didn't sell out a shot but left jayson nothing tricky.. somehow busty comes up with ball in hand??

He had a chance to shoot the 3 and draw into an 8-10 cluster that also happens to block the 5's nearest hole. He didn't see it that way and tried to play shape on the window for the 5 in the further corner. Got wrong on the 4 and now has nothing.

Busty recovers crossing the 5 instead, but the 8-10 still a problem later.

Steered the next shot, missed, smacked his cue in frustration. Not busty's best game.

Jayson sinks the 6 and does a kinda dumb breakout on the 8-10... he never had a hope of getting anything on the 7. It wasn't lying like an insurance ball.

Busty is showing a little attitude from his poor play... got the table back, whacked in the 8, almost scratched on the 9 and is talking to the cue ball.

Got out anyway. 11-9 busty.

Nice break for Jayson "Unnecessary Y" Shaw, but no look at the 1 though. Pushes out. Busty's safe a little haphazard. Faced with a long 45 degree cut requiring inside, Jayson fires and misses.

Missable bridge shot with chance to run into a ball, busty hits it just right and comes out 2 rails for his 2 ball. Next shot a little wild and nudges his 5, but still ok on the 4. Drills it, gets funny, straight in on an unlikely 5-9 combo. Tries to sneak it by and bobbles it. Leaves J hooked but it's hanging in the hole. Opts to kick the length of the table rather than try a close jump shot.

Makes it with good-enough shape  ...gets out smoothly from here. 11-11
