Does anyone know if Frank Torres still owns the room on Bonanza in Vegas? I'm planning to be there for the World Pool Masters May 9-11 and he's an old pal, would love to see him if he's still there.

Hi junksecret,

Sorry to tell you but Crystal Palace Billiards is closed. I live near there. I'm sure I saw Frank at the LV Cue Club during my last visit. I understand the Cue Club made an offer to purchase at least two of Frank's heated tables. Give a call to the Cue Club (702 735 2884) when you get in town. My information is correct as of April 4th.

Ahhhhhhhhh, that is the "rumble" I had heard which is why I posted the question. Thanks for saving me a trip off the strip....I'll try and locate him before I drive all over town.

Thanks again,

Joe

Really sorry to hear this. I have an annual meeting in August and always go through the hassle to bring my cue so I can go to the Crystal.

I think I'll have to cancel my plans to Vegas. The only reason for me to go is to play some 3C and maybe with Frank. Guess that's out now.

Realllllllllllllllllllly Sad.

3kushn,

I'm back in Vegas next Wednesday. Although I'll be there for two weeks, I'll post up more current info on Frank and Crystal Palace Billiards when I return to Rochester.

The Cue Club's current Ver Hoven??? 5 x 10 plays pretty good. The bed heater is broken. Still worth a visit. Some of the Hispanic players from Vegas are there from about 2 PM to 10 PM most every day. Sometimes tough to get table time. Hope they do buy one or two of Frank's tables.

I think it is or was a Soren Sogaard. At one time it was out in the middle of the pool tables.

Thanks cardiac kid. Looking forward to the news.

Don't know why Sogards are hard to set up to play right. Only played on old ones maybe things have changed.

3kushn,

I stopped by Crystal Palace Thursday afternoon. The front door was open! The entire room was dark and no one was visible. It looks closed but....... Please contact them when you get into town. I'm confused as well.

Lyn,

I ended up not even bringin' my cue and didn't rent a car since I heard it was closed. I just called and someone answered and said they were open. I asked if Frank still owned it and he said "I think so, I don't know". I then asked if there was any chance he would be there this evening and got an equally vague answer that lead me to believe the answer was no.

Oh well, maybe I'll ask some of my old 3-Cushion buddies, somebody should know his whereabouts.

Joe

I heard that Frank will be playing at the College Billiards tournament in San Diego on June 20-22.

If you really want to see him, you can always come.
