I picked up a table today to restore,it looks to be an old Brunswick table that has been re-labled but the cushions have his name molded into them so he must have had a good sized company at one time in the Newport News , Va area. Can anyone supply any info or pics of these tables?

I will post the before pics of the legs, pockets and rails a.s.a.p.

The whole table is in rough shape, I believe it is pre 1906 if I am not mistaken. This table belonged to the customer's grandfather . I am sending the pockets to Hood for restoration .

Nice old table

Good luck with your project! Looks rough but I am sure there is more that is right about the table than wrong. I have done a lot of research on my table and my rails look very similar to yours. However, I think I remember reading somewhere that in the early days a lot of people spun off from Brunswick to build tables to compete with Brunswick. I think I remember that Brunswick rails are held on using four bolts where as others used three.

Thanks. Your table looks great, nice job. I have seen 4 bolt and 3 bolt Brunswicks, and a combination of the two. Here's a pic of a table I was called in to finish setting up ,the customer was not happy with the all the ripples and indentations in his cushions that the other company did. He did all the work on the wood himself, he was having a custom woodworker finish the legs he had made from scratch, he bought this out of a newspaper for $800.

The pockets came in today from Hood Leather Goods. They did a great job and I reccomend them to anyone needing work done to their pockets. Awesome work and a quick turnaround time.

I had to remove all the blocks that attach to the frame and legs, reglue and screw them back on .The old horseglue and 2 16 penny nails had done all they could over the years.

I started to stain the table but it was much darker than I wanted so I need to sand off the Red Oak stain and will just go with a clear stain this time.
