The americans play well so far.
Shane McMinn has to play against Denis Grabe who won that event two times. Grabe should be favorite.
Ellerman and Thorpe with quite unknown opponents tomorrow, but van Boening, Woodward and Deuel with very strong ones.

edit - McMinn won. He got a fist bump from Johann, but I could have sworn I saw him mouth "but you're still not getting on the Mosconi Cup team."

Both McMinn and Grabe played like crap, honestly. Shane got a TON of lucky rolls, and was gifted several racks. I also noticed Shane was pounding every shot. And the untucked shirt looked kinda sloppy.
 
it's a good field, will be interesting to see whos still standing in the last 16 round. i hope ellerman will go far

so you are saying one win out of the next 2 matches and they are through to the final 32? Is it SE at that stage?

thats right. and from last 32 onwards it's single elimination

we use the same tournament format in most european countries. it's standardized that way, same online tourney platform, same rules, same table dimensions, etc. minor deviations occur, i guess, but aside from that it's pretty conform.
 
Oscar misses and it's 5-3 now.

It's a test of mental toughness to play a young kid like that. We've all played in that situation before, and there are a lot of thoughts that go through your head - what if he beats me, I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard, maybe I shouldn't beat him up too bad, etc. You've got to just stay focused and play.
