Thanks for the message, best of luck to him and with his game.
So get this. I tell Jeff what kind of response I get and he asks me to name a few pros that started to play as young as him and never gambled till they where 19. The only one I could think of was Ralf Souquet. Then he says how do you expect me to learn to play under pressure when we live in Canada and there are really not many tournaments that will give me the pressures I need to get where I wanna be in this sport? So I tell him to shut his mouth and keep practicing. If somebody wants a game I got ur back son.

bring him to Shooters on saturday or sunday.There's a lot guys who can give him some action there after the tournaments..and if he cannot find someone to play even,give some spot and we are lining up here for him..
Since you live in the falls area, why not take him across the border to play some Joss tour events? Maybe to St Kitts to play with Orme? McDonald? Fawcett? etc? Lots of good action is readily available for him WAY closer than Shooters.
Guaranteed! Mondays Wednesdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays are all action days at Shooters. He is guaranteed to find a game. And since Dad says he doesnt want to give up any weight I will assume that means he doesnt want any either? Tell him to ask Erik Hjorleifson to play some, I bet you cant bet as high as a giraffes ass!
Thanks for all the info. He plays with Chris 3 times a week. All the others in the area, he has been playing. We have been working out the proper spots. But it is nickle and dimes. Not going after Eric even . Was that some kind of joke?
He wants even action because he wants to play people his speed. There where plenty of them at the Amature Mens Canadians. He came 17th there and is willing to play anyone that qualified for that event even. He also played the Juniours. he came 5th and is willing to play the winner even. He wants to play nickles and dimes but with a few more 0"s at the end. Something to sweat you know.

I know Scott McDonald gambles occasionally and played in the Am division, same with Kirk McKeen. Maybe he can set up a game with Brittany, she also played the junior event. Marc Bucais also comes to mind. I know Ive talked with a couple other people that may be interested in playing also.
Ive played Scott before and I know he will bet it up if he has some time to practice.
Brittany is at Shooters pretty regular, why not show up on Monday? Im sure she is also really easy to get in touch with to arrange a game.
Most of the guys around here have watched Jeff grow with the game and as a person. Its a small group and the love and respect between them all is pretty stong.The money is tight and nobody wants to take away from family needs. This whole thing with us is mostly about playing under pressure. Not out to take away from anyones needs. This pretty much goes for our fellow players in surrounding areas as well. There are a few players, Like Brittany. She plays with her own money and Jeff would rather play smaller action with her so as not to maybe catch a gear that may harm her future, he is the first one to be cheering her on all the way to the top. Its all about pressure not money so pretty much anyone that we play around the surrounding area please only bet what you can afford,or get a backer that can. Lets sweat, and laugh,and play again.

One of the reasons that he is looking for even action is to see where he stands. Then if or hopefully when he improves then he will be going after the next level of players even. Tyler if your reading this slow down a bit, lol, cause we coming after you :smile:
At Shooters they have tournaments and handicaps to show you where you stand. Does he have a handicap? How are you supposed to find who he is supposed to play even with if we dont have that info?
If he wants to play to feel pressure just go and play the tournaments at Shooters. If he wants to make money, keep trying to get games.
He wants those tournaments for sure, Soon. Last he was handicaped was on Ktour. Was A 5+ . The players that he is looking to play are the guys that where 7s to 7+ range . We both feel that this is tough action for him right now. Not sure of shooters system compared to the Ktour system. If im not mistaken that was the cut off for the Canadian Amature Men. Maybe it was 8 ? Cause Rod the winner is an 8 at shooters isnt he?
K Tour, wow. I think at the time his handicap was a little off because of his relationship with a certain someone.
Id say play him as an 8 and make an offer to anyone to play race to your handicap with him. Since he said he'd play anyone in the AM division at the Canadians and you think that is the cut off point. There are a bunch of players from 5-8 that gamble and would be willing to play some sets.
I'll even try him some if all he wants is a match. Im not an 8, for the record so I obviously wont be playing even.
Sounds good, He doesnt remember who you are but now knows your name so feel free to intrduce yourself when you run into him there. I see your from Hamilton. We are living in St. Catharines. Thats pretty close. If you feel like a game in the mean time we can come to you. And you are more than welcome to come this way and play some handycap games. Thanks for all your help. Oh, and he did fairly well with that handycap on Ktour but never won an event.
If he is going to play as an 8, I'll play some cheap sets with him. Im open to adjusting from there either way. But not going to let it get out of hand money wise for him/you.
Sounds like a plan, I was hoping to get to Shooters Monday but I have to work. Maybe I can be there for the Wednesday tournament next week?
