Free Pool Movies: Rewatch

Carambola 2003 a fun watch. The scenes work because the humor is physical.
Typically pool hall scenes and emotions. The love story was entertaining and predictable.

Its not a movie where characters have a lot to say, but there is a lot to notice in what they are physically doing.
Great movie with lots of tips for bachelors and bums. Its circulating for free in the Queens Public Library system.

I thought Keith was great in COM, of course he had to take some of the heat off his real life delivery , too many Sensitive Sams would have had nosebleeds, if he did his regular routine.

Three Times the first part is a love story. A soldier falls in love with the woman at the pool hall. Its a Taiwanese film, the love story is universal.

If you ever had a crush from a distance, Three Times plays on that theme.
The remaining stories are in different time periods.

The Asian essence is captured well, Asian culture is not as loud as Western civilizations.

It can be requested through the Queens Public Library and the New York Public Library.

There are enough billiard films at the international cinema level to make sure people know about it and check it out.

Sold any pool lately?

I discuss pool as a growth sport to sell pool interest during my college lectures.

The international college I work at has had several students over the years share their pool interest in class.

It is a real eye opener when I connect with young people through pool in a General Education Quantitative Reasoning or Statistical Applications of Behavioral Sciences course.

Yes I have sold pool lately in my own personal sphere of influence. That is why I am practicing writing film reviews of pool movies. I hope it meets standards on the forum. In my early years everyone complained. Lately I haven't had much criticisms.

I've made several pitches where I work to my coworkers about starting pool engagement.

Field trip to any pool room would have more exposure.

I have led several to a bar table with coin return.

The trip works if they had previous pool experiences. If they are brand new then I get: "It was fun to try but why do it again?"

That is where the movie comes in, new people have no idea what to expect, feel or think.

Pool movies need dance scenes. Pool players should know how to dance if they are in bars with music all the time.

Carombola had a nice dance scene.

Ive always liked pool because the audience sizes matched lecture or college classes.

If your not from a family that owns or operates a pool room, then pool is a culture you learn to adopt.

People cant adopt a culture if they don't understand it. Math is taught in almost every school but that does not mean people like to practice it as a hobby.

The pool hall is a great way to socialize. However not everyone views it that way.

Look at the WPBA it was once a bunch of European/American women. Now its represented in multiple ethnicities.

Participation in a sport is good for people with anxiety. There is not a lot of talking and you don't have to be very coordinated or exercise a lot. It is perfect for scientists and engineers.

Based on the users that post there is a disproportionate amount of technically educated people on the forum.

The users here have let me know to post professional or don't post. The guidance in the community was productive.
