Free Super Pro Tip

Once again, going by a link to Prather that was provided earlier...the tips are $2 for 1-3 tips. So he buys in bulk and gets them cheaper. Now, in Houston...if I were to have a tip put on my cue...it'd cost me $20+. To me, that's ripping somebody off. According to you, if I had somebody put on a .35 tip, I can figure the materials used is a total of $2, and the 5 minutes that it takes to put the tip on...that's a profit of $17.65. Now, I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I can tell you that's a rip off.
You are stuck on the PERCEIVED VALUE of an item or service. You feel that the $20 tip in the example above is a rip off becaues it is not a good value to you. I agree that a bad value is a type of a rip off, but that is not what people have had the big problem with here. I do not happen to think this guys tips are a good value, but again, that wasn't the issue that people are most upset about. What we have been discussing is his dishonesty and misrepresentation, period. To use your example, it would be like if your cue tip person said he was doing free tips and all you had to do was pay $20 to cover the cost of the electricity while running his lathe to install it. That would be a misrepresentation and scam, and is totally different than just being a bad value. Do you see the difference now?
What he decides to pay for shipping is his decision, it shouldn't cost almost $2 for shipping...but that's also money out of his pocket.

I'm done arguing with you now...you keep dragging it out and this should have been over quite some time ago. All I can tell you is that he let everyone know what the "shipping costs" were...some paid it, some didn't. If they took it, they have no right to complain. They knew what was going on, simple as that. No, it wasn't right...but it's done and over with.
You keep saying you are done arguing every time you keep posting and arguing, even after I have already attempted to agree to disagree. You are keeping the whole issue from dying.
Have yourself a good night, and sorry to all that felt they were ripped off. I have nothing to apologize for as far as this situation, but this lengthy argument was something to apologize for.
I am going to try this again, and hopefully it is my last word on the subject to you. From all of your arguments, you believe that dishonesty and fraud on a small dollar scale is ok, if the item is a decent PERCEIVED VALUE to the buyer. My position is that misrepresentation or dishonesty when selling an item is wrong, PERIOD, regardless of how good or bad the value of the deal is, and that the offender should be taken to task for it. So for the second time, we can agree to disagree and hopefully let it drop this time. Thanks.
