Here we'll be able to breathe this year, welcome news, I'll be attending more because of this. Thx, we needed that! I'm sure more people will come and be able to enjoy this exciting tournament.

Smoking

Smoking has been greatly restricted by Indiana law so no open smoking areas like in the past. We can breathe alittle easier.

Casino's are exempt if the establishment so chooses...Horseshoe does have a smoke-free deck on the boat to gamble although the tournament area will most likely be smoking...

I haven't called to verify this but after looking at the Indiana ATC site this appears to be the case...

There seems to be some ambiguity. Maybe someone can call the hotel and report back. One thing that seems certain is smoking still being allowed in the gambling areas. Unclear if it's allowed in the areas outside the tournament room as well.

If the policy is the same as it has been since the DCC has moved to the Horseshoe, there is no smoking anywhere there are pool tables. So outside the action room and that area with chairs and tables outside the tournement room has smoking as well. This could all have changed, but that is how it was last year.

Yeah a law was passed here banning smoking and exempting casinos, but it's unclear if areas at the Horseshoe outside of the actual casino area fall under purview of the new law.
