For Sale: I have 16 Mac Ebony dowels that I am looking to sell. 13 of these measure about 1.000 - 1.330, the other 3 are slightly larger. They are all about 16" in length.
These dowels came from the Imperial Billiards company in either 81' or 82'. They had placed an ad in a national trade magazine and a well known wood dealer bought 1000 pieces of wood from them that included these dowels. This was before Viking bought out Imperial. Shortly after this wood dealer bought them a cue maker bought a number of them. This cue maker owed me money and a couple of years ago I got some of his stash in exchange for the money owed. They do not fit well with the type of butts I usually make and I would rather see them go towards some wonderful hitting cues than just sit in my shop for the next 30 years.
These dowels are at least 30 years old and in fact could be much older. Since the Rich Cue Company was in business for years before it sold to Imperial these could be very old. And even if this was new material bought by Imperial they would still be older than 30 years. But there is no way to prove that. There is proof that these came from Imperial and in fact are 30 years old minimum. All have typical light striping but are oxidized from so many years of sitting making it somewhat hard to see the grain/figure clearly.
These are numbered from left to right, 1 - 16. Price is $34.00 each plus shipping. If you are interested in all 16 of them the price is $490.00 plus shipping.
