Humble non bling custom player’s cue, old meets new by David Brainerd. Purpleheart 4-veneer full splice, Brunswick model 26.5 1pc cue from the 1920’s, precursor to the Titlist. The woods from these old BW cues are perhaps 200 yrs old. PH & Ebony versions of these old cues are pretty hard to find… This one is nicley figured PH with pristine points into a straight grain maple forearm, african blackwood buttsleeve, juma Hoppe ring, 58”, 29/29 split. 18.9 oz, balance @ 17.5” from buttcap. Brainerd’s work is outstanding, cue is perfectly straight together & apart. I played it about 2 months with a different shaft, the buttsleeve has a few minor scuffs in the finish, as seen in the pics, otherwise perfect condition. Pics also show the original cue during the conversion build.

$580 including USPS pri shipping & insurance. Any/all e-pays accepted. Feel free to send questions by PM. Thx for looking.

Sounds like there’s no way to trim the weight down… that correct?
Correct. Well, without making any changes that is… I think a decent cue maker could core out a bit of material for you from the buttsleeve, if you really wanted to lighten it a bit.

More of the points and veneers would be great. If you wouldn’t mind plucking out the bumper and doing a colonoscopy, that would be helpful. 🙏🏻

OK. I added a few higher res pics of veneers/points to original post above. There is a 10 photo attach limit to posts, so the colonoscopy report is below. If folks are not aware, a figured purpleheart red label 26.5 this old and in this good shape is a rare find. This one is about as good as they get. Also, for those unaware David Brainerd in OR specializes in BW conversions and is amazing to work with. This cue is as straight as one can imagine, including the challenging roll test where you put the cue joint butt side on edge of rail and roll the tip while comparing to a horizontal line on the wall - there is literally zero variance. And the joint/pin connection is as flat as they get, silky smooth and has that super solid lock up feeling on final few turns. I'm genuinely surprised no one has gobbled this up yet, I dropped the price a bit - doubtful one could find another one like this, and its priced only $150 over what most folks charge for high end blanks...? Only reason I'm selling this one is that I have a few other amazing original 1-pc 26.5 and Titlists that are even nicer that I may eventually convert and will never sell.
